Studio Ceiling Project

The main section of our studio doesn't have windows because the wall space is needed to display artwork. The room was dark and was in need of natural light so a couple of weeks ago Joe cut holes in the ceiling and installed two skylights. What a difference it makes! The space is so full of bright cheery light now.

Here are a few photos showing the installation process.

Happy day! The first opening is made. It was just beautiful seeing daylight stream through into this dark section of the studio for the first time.

All finished.

To top off the ceiling project Erica and I are wallpapering it with vintage road maps. We're hoping to have it finished for this weekend.... that is if we don't run out of maps. Do you have any old road maps laying around that you no longer need? Bring them by this weekend and we'll add them to the ceiling. You can see the new ceiling (and plenty of artwork) at the next Open Studio Tour this weekend June 21, 22, 23, 2013  10-5PM.
