Weekend in Downtown Seattle

Artist's Convention and Library Tour in Seattle, Washington

Recently, some of my artist friends and I spent the weekend in downtown Seattle to attend the Northwest Watercolor Society Convention. Ruth Armitage and I gave a presentation called, Creating an Online Presence for Artists.

We didn't have much time for sight seeing and I forgot to take many photos, but there are a few:

This was the view from our room on the 11th floor at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Ruth lent me the use of this photo of the two us treating ourselves to a room service breakfast of oatmeal, coffee, fruit and hard boiled eggs.

Convention activities occupied most of our time, but we managed to fit in a quick visit to the most amazing Seattle Public Library building. If you are ever in Seattle, add it to your must see list! I promise you'll not be disappointed. Click for more photos

The view from the 10th floor reading room.  Twice a year, a special cleaning crew, using mountain climbing equipment swing back and forth on ropes to clean the windows.

The library has a crow's nest on the 10th floor. This is looking all the way down to the 1st floor. Those are people and book shelves that you see. You can also see the neon yellow escalators.

The 4th floor is all in red! What a sight to see! This place is a work of art!

I hope you are enjoying your summer. I'm working away on a few new art projects and will keep you posted.
