FPC Gallery Show

FPC Gallery Show opens this weekend on Sunday March 16. There is an opening reception from 11:30 to 1 PM located inside this most amazingly beautiful old church on 1200 SW Alder in downtown Portland, OR. If you can stop by to meet the artists, the lovely and talented Claudia Breese and me. We will each be displaying 10 paintings all with a connection to trees.

A forest of new tree paintings in my studio ready for a show

Can you tell which one is my favorite? I like them all, but I do have to tell you I had the most fun painting the Girly Pink Tree and also the Flower Tree against the purple background. These two pieces appeared on the canvas completely from the thoughts and ideas floating around in my head. Actually they all come from an original thought but sometimes planning goes into the mix. For instance I will take photos of a tree shapes that appeal to me or draw all kinds of thumbnail sketches before beginning to paint.
