Finding Inspiration For A New Series

If you are anything like me, at times you just need a break from the every day working life to reconnect with friends. So I woke up early this last Saturday morning to meet up with a few girlfriends to tour the Swan Island Dahlia Farm in Canby. If you live in the Portland Oregon area be sure to visit this farm! The fields are in full bloom right now and it's absolutely gorgeous.

Inspired by the blooms

I'm planning a new painting series and have been thinking of all the possibilities for subject matter. Do I want to paint landscapes, abstracts, birds or flowers? Well, this trip to the dahlia farm convinced me. The subject is flowers. But with a few surprises. Wait and see. In the meantime enjoy these lovely blooms and be inspired:
