Grow an Indoor Garden for Your Pet
This spring or any time of the year, give your pets a treat by growing a little indoor garden especially for them. It's so easy to plant a wheat grass garden for both cats and dogs.
If you have an indoor kitty like we do, he will love you even more for bringing the outdoors inside.
Purchase a scoopful of red wheat berry grain from the bulk section of your local grocery store. Soak the grain seeds in warm water overnight.
You will also need a flower pot and planting soil. Fill the pot with soil and sprinkle the wheat berries onto the dirt and cover with more soil. Keep the pot moist and in about a week you will see new green sprouts. Wait for the grass to grow a couple of inches before offering it to your pet.
When Georgie and and Quincy first saw it they started biting on the stems right away....
....and then they just enjoyed hanging out by the bit of outdoors, especially Georgie.
What about you? Have you grown plants for your indoor pets? If so, do you know of any other pet friendly greens to grow?
