What Could Happen When You Enter a Show

Your Artwork Could End Up Hanging in a Museum

This is what happened to me earlier this Spring in April, when at the last minute, I decided to enter a painting in the Watercolor Society of Oregon Show. Then I told myself the reward was the satisfaction I had entered and left it at that.

I was happily surprised when

The painting not only was accepted into the show of 80 from a selection of 300 or so entries, but it also received an award of distinction which means it is included in a 6 month long gallery tour of 20 award paintings. The really cool part is the whole show was hung in a museum at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum for 3 months. What an honor! Here's the schedule for the traveling show. I'd be so happy if you could visit the show.

This is a close up of the lower half of the painting. The lighting wasn't the best for taking photos in the previous shot.

P.S. I want to personally give a big shout out to Ruth Armitage and Margaret Godfrey for an amazingly successful convention, and to the show juror, Jeannie McGuire.
